ON THE HUSTINGS.
MR. MASTERS AT STRATFORD. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) STRATFORD, Oct. 22. 1 Mr Masters, M.P., spoke at the To wn Hall last night. The building was crowded, and a number were unable to obtain admittance. He was accorded a flattering reception. The Mayor, Mr McMillan, presided. The candidate expounded at length the policy of the National Party. He urged the formation of a new party," consisting of those prepared tb place the national interests before party, and the selection of the most capable pien, irrespective of. j>arty, to carry on the country’s administration. The speaker strong I ,y advocated economic administration, in view of the fact that the cost *of administration was increasing out of all proportion to the growth of population. He advocated the need for a revision of taxation, so that the wealth, whatever the form in which it was earned, shall bear a fair share of the cost of administration. Votes of thanks and confidence in Mr Masters and confidence in the National Party were carried unanimously. THE GISBORNE SEAT. GISBORNE, Oct. 22. Mr W. D Lysnar has been nominated for the Gisborne seat.
