65,000 DOLLARS PAID. AY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. NEW YORK, Oct. 21. The police announce that sixty-five thousand dollars were pair for the return of Mrs. Donohue’s pearls. No questions were asked. (Mrs. Donohue’s pearls, valued at 680,000 dollars, were stolen from the Metropolitan Hotel, New York. Detectives failed to obtain the faintest clue until a reformed crook opened negotiations with them, allegedly offering to return the pearls if 100,000 dollars reward were paid and no questions asked.)
