DENTISTS PROTEST.
AGAINST HOSPITAL BOARD’S ACTION.
(by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.; AUCKLAND', Oct. 21. The Hospital Board has received a letter from nine members of the honorary staff of the Dental Hospital as a protest against the Board's .action in requesting the Government to extend protection for unregistered dentist until the contemplated protective legislation was obtained. The staff .claimed the right to have been consulted before action was taken on an exparte statement.
The chairman, Mr. Wallace, said it would be a sorry day when a policy would ibe dictated-, to the board in such a manner. It convinced him' that the attitude of the board towards the unregistered dentists iwass right. He moved that the resignations he accepted, adding that if applications were invited outside of the association, there would be plenty of replies. Other members protested that there was no honorary dental staff and urged that the whole thing be ignored. The board resolved that the letter he received and no action taken.
