Despite the great falling off the following are some ways as advertised by the Liquor Traffic, in which taxpayers have been relieved: BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL MEN AND SALARIED WORKERS—Income Tax reduced 20%. FARMERS—Land Tax remissions. HOUSEWIVES—Tea Duty reduced 3d. lb. SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENTS rpo y TPrIliPPn THE GENERAL PUBLIC—Penny Postage re-introduced. NATIONAL WAR DEBT REDUCED -1922-3-4 £6,088,195. In the U.S.A. under Prohibition the Government Accounts show a reduction of £685,000,000 of National Debt in four years, a reduction of £416,200,000 in expenditure of running the country, and a Treasury surplus of £50,000,000 in 1925:—with Taxation to be reduced a further £60,000,000 this year.
