METHODIST CHURCH.
ANNIVERSARY MEETING. The annual meeting of the Hawera Methodist Church was held in Wesley Hall last evening, when there was a good attendance, presided over by the Rev. W. J. Oxbrow. The chairman spoke of the satisfactory aspect of all branches of the church work. The secretary of the trust' presented the report and balance-sheet. He stated that over £llOO had been contributed by the Hawera Church during the year, and the debt on all the property had been reduced to £735. The attendances at the Sunday School were very good, the roll number being 214 scholars and 21 teachers. The church was indebted to Mr. E. Yearbury for his splendid work in thd Boys’ Club, which had a membership of 25. With the assistance of Mr. Fox (choirmaster) the choir was doing excellent work.
The Christian Endeavour Class, with a membership of 48, was in a most satisfactory condition and reflected credit on the leader.
A special feature of the Sunday morning services was the_ attendance of members of the Young Worshippers’ League, which had a roll number of 85. Few churches in the Dominion had sueh a large number of children attending the morning service. • During the evening a splendid musical programme was' given and was much appreciated. ■
