QUEEN CARNIVAL.

CAMPAIGN NOTES. Final arrangements have been .made for the Sports candidate committee’s concert and dance at Whareroa tonight. In view of previous successes a record attendance is expected. The Country candidate’s committee proposes to ruxx a concei-t and dance at Alton shortly. A very good programme will be submitted. The County candidate committee’s efforts on Saturday were successful, about £2o being l'ealised through the medium of a shop and a copper trail. The window of the Sunny Nelson Fruit Depot has been decoi-ated with three large dolls representing the axeen Carnival candidates, di'essed in eir respective colours. This makes quite an effective display when arranged in a tasteful setting of fruit. The mock court held on Saturday in aid of the Sports candidate l-esulted in about £3O being x-ealised.
