LILYBELLS AND BUTTERCUPS.
Lily Bells should sweetly ring On the glad approach of Spring; Sending notes to bird and bee, Bidding them to fairy tea. Buttercups the board should grace, Each in its appointed place; What more fitting cups to hold Fairy tea in shining gold. But to me remains to say, Though with much remorse, sirs; Lily Bells possess no tongues, Buttercups no saucers. —Florence Hope,
