His racing career was marked by many brilliant performances. Among some of the races he won was the Avonhead Handicap at Rieearton, carrying 9st 131 b; Owen Handicap at Wanganui, carrying 7st 131 b; Flying Handicap at New Plymouth, twice, carrying Bst 41b and Bst 61b; Flying Handicap at Wanganui, twice, beating Postillion and Emperador, carrying Bst 61b; Inglewood Handicap at New Plymouth; Waimate Handicap at Hawera; Brewer Handicap at Waverley, and other races.
