HAWERA MEN’S CLUB. Hawera will send a team to' New Plymouth on 'Monday, October 2-6 (Labour Day), to play a team from the local club. Tbis match will serve t-o take tlie place of the usual match on June 3, which for several years has been a yearly fixture. The Hawera team will be:—Quin (2), O'Callaghan, Dale, Beechey, Elliott, Cox, Ryan, GLasson, Little, Fletcher, Hay-Mac-kenzie, Lane, Moss, Douglas, Gibson, Hart, Jobson, Ivururangi, Vinnico-mbe, Blair, Bright, Ritchie, Mevrick. CLOSING DAY AT ELTHAM. The official closing of the Eft-ham Club for the season will take place on Saturday, and the committee has sent a cordial invitation to Hawera members. It is hoped as many as possible will 'accept the invitation. FINAL FOiR CHAMPIONSHIP. \ WON BY MISS H. WILSON. Yesterday the final of the ladies’ championship was decided, when Miss H. Wilson played Airs. French and after a good keen contest won by a margin of 3 up and 2 to play. , Aliss Wilson went off well and secured a lead of three up in tlie first four holes. Airs. French then came to light and reduced to -all square at the 7th and was one up at tlie Btli. Miss Wilson won the 9tli and they were all square at tl|e turn. Then ensued a good struggle, but Aliss Wilson, playing a solid game, was too*much for her opponent and finished the mate'll at the sixteenth, where the verdict went to her three up and two to go. Tlie weather'conditions were excellent and the greens in fair order, but the lies in some of the fairways were uncertain. WANGANUI LADIES’ CHAAIPIONSHBP. WON BY AIRS. GUY WILLIAAI3. Keen enthusiasm marked the playing of the Ladies’ Championship tournament at Wanganui, which began on Saturday and was concluded on Tuesday. The first round resulted: Alls Williams beat Airs Smith, 5 and 3. Airs Cook beat Aliss Aloore, 4 and 3. Airs Grace beat Aliss Quin, 2 and
ALiss Payton beat Airs Gibson, 1 up. In the semi-finals of tlie championship, Mrs Guy Williams won from Airs Cook, 1 up; Aliss Payton won from Mrs Grace, 7 and 6.
