A good deal of the apparatus required lor the Taranaki Bacteriological Laboratory at New Plymouth has arrived from England. One oL,the pieces of electrical apparatus was of faulty construction and had to be altered and tested at great inconvenience. Since the inception of the laboratory over 500 specimens have been examined, of -which 335 were done in August. The total fees for the work amounted to £l2 2s 2d, and the nonrecoverable fees to £B3 10s.
