PATEA HOSPITAL BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. Rev. 11. Watson presided at the ordin-ax-y meeting of the Patca Hospital Board yesterday, when there were also present: Messrs. Belton, Taylor, Scown, Middleton, Watkins, McDonald and Back. The medical superintendent’s report showed that at the end of last month there were nine male and eleven female patients in the hospital; seventeen were admitted and nineteen discharged, leaving seven males and eleven females in the hospital at date of report. There had been no deaths during the month. Tenders w r crc instructed to be called for- extracting stumps and levelling the ground round the nmv nurses’ home. Mr. Watkins reported having authorised a temporary grant of 30s per week to a family in great distress, and who was living in an old shanty and a leaky tent. His action was confirmed. Advice was received that the annual conference would be held on February 24, 25, 20. It was asked that any remits should be sent forward before the end of November, and urgent matters cropping up later by January, 1926. Any other matters would need a notice, of "motion. During the conference an address would be given by Dr. Valin - tine, Director-General of Hospitals, on system in hospital management and on his experiences during his recent trip to the Old World. Policy matters generally, borrowing, and many other matters "germane to hospital management would he discussed. It was hoped that an invitation w'ould be sent to the British and American Medical Associations and to New South Wales to send dele 1 gates. | A sub-committee, was set up to confer with the District Public Trustee to consider the question of gorse growing on section leased to the latter near Kolii.
Accounts were passed for payment and the board then adjourned.
