Detective Meiklejohn, who succeeds Detective-Sergeant Cooney at New Plymouth, has arrived from Auckland. De-tective-Sergeant Cooney retires from the force on superannuation on Friday. Mr A. M. Mowlem, S.M., of New Plymouth, who is at present in Auckland, has sufficiently recovered from his indisposition to enable him to take a trip to' Australia further to recuperate.
