THE INQUIRY ADJOURNED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. Replying to questions after reading his conclusions,' Professor Scott stated emphatically that the track, engine, and brakes 'were all in good order. Certain points in the conclusions and questions were withheld from publication. as it was considered unfair to publish them until the engine-driver is able to be present and cross-examine Professor Scott. The professor said he considered the time-table speeds were not too fast.
Mr. Myers, for the Railway Department, said he only wished to call the engine-driver, fiiemaa, stationmaster, and some passengers, but the driver was still in hospital. ' Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., chairman of the Commission, said the inquiry would he adjourned till the driver is able to attend, when a week’s notice will he given.. t Proceedings will be resumed at Napier.
