WAR IN MOROCCO.

SAYS GENERAL DE RIVERA. BLOW AT COLOURED PERIL. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRHIGT, Received Oct- 13, 10.15 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 12.

The Daily Express’s special correspondent at Tetuan quotes General De Rivera as declaring thiat the war in Morocco is over, that Abd el Krim’s army is shattered, that only one thousand followers remain and that the white race is safe for the time being in North Africa. The defeat of Abd el Krim has proved to be a material setback to the looming Eastern peril, and it has dealt another blow at Bolshevism. While Albd el Krim was digging himself in in the mountains with a tiny band of loyalists the Franco-Spa nish forces did -not intend to advance further. Important submissions by tribesmen were occurring daily. Winter would do its own work among the tribesmen that were still resisting. Spain and France had fought the white world’s battle against the creeping yellow and brown peril. If Abd el Krim had triumphed there would have been serious trouble in India, Egypt and Syria. General De Rivera shortly returns to Spain. He is determined to lead a triumphant march through the Rlih mountains in ,the spring.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Atssn.
