His racing career was marked by many brilliant performances. Among some of the races he won was the Avonhead Handicap at Ricearton, carrying 9st 131 b; Owen Handicap at Wanganui, carrying 7st 131 b; Flying Handicap at New Plymouth, twice, carrying Sst 41b and Bst Gib; Flying Handicap at Wanganui, twice, beating Postillion and Emperador, carrying Bst Gib; Inglewood Handicap at New Plymouth; Waimate Handicap at Hawera; ! Brewer Handicap at Waverley, and other races. Only two of Tree Lucerne’s stock have raced so far, viz., Master Lucerne and Lucernal, and both won races last season.
