GIRLS WHIPPED.

SOME VIOLENT MEN

NEW YORK TAILORS

NEW YORK, Oct. I

Formerly a tailor was considered a mere fraction of a man, but to-day in New York he is exhibiting the characteristics of'a cave man. Tailors in the city have gone out on strike, and during the last fortnight their actions have increased in violence until there da virtually a reign of terror.

Merciless, war is waged on all who attempt to return to work. Ten men have been beaten unconscious and 300 injured. Several girl workers were whipped in the street, and others held while strikers poured destructive acid on the suitings they carried. One tailor who refused to join the strikers had his home totally wrecked by a charge of dynamite.
