QUEEN CARNIVAL.
.CAMPAIGN NOTES. All sports are asked to be- sports and sport a shilling to see some sport at the Sports Grounds to-morrow, in aid ot' the Sports’ queen, when the fancy dress hockey match, which was originally arranged for September 23, will take place. The teams will be as previously advertised. A procession, in which everyone is invited to take part, will 'leave the post office at 2 p.m. The copper trail held in High Street <m Saturday last was very successful, and the sum of £27 was added to the fund of the Sports candidate. The members of tlie committee were very energetic and systematically extracted the pennies from the people in town. The Women’s National, Reserve is holding a Cinderella dance this evening in the Foresters’ Hall in aid of the •bands’ carnival bazaar. Tlie music will be excellent, McDonald’s orchestra having been, engaged for the first part of the evening and a special orchestra later. Cinderella dances provide a great deal of amusement, so an enjoyable evening is assured.
