FAKED RACE BOOKS.

PRINTING FIRM UNDER SUS ' PICION.

BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY, Oct. 5. During the hearing of 'the charges against Joseph Robinson and William Corson of conspiring to defraud the New South Wales Bookstall Company in connection with the issue of faked race books at the Randrwiek meeting on Saturday, the police alleged that thousands of copies were passed to men with special knowledge of distribution, who in turn sold them to hoys, the lastnamed not knowing anything was wrong with the books. It appears that the books were published at a printing establishment which has been under observation for a considerable time. ■, -

It is stated that the sensation is not likely to stop at the sale of these books. Other issues of greater magnitude are believed to be connected with these printing works, some of which have been puzzling political circles for a long time.
