Mr G. D. Stone, consulting engineer to the Wanganui Corporation gasworks, and president of the New Zealand Gas Engineers’ Institute, died today (says a message from Wanganui). Death was due to heart trouble, follow- 1 ing on an operation. The deceased was for ' nearly 20 years manager of the Wanganui works, going there from Australia. His wife predeceased him bv six months. He leaves a family of four ccii’ and two daughters. Thomas (hristian Jensen was arrested at Stratford on Saturday by Constable Townsend, of Eltham, on a charge of forgery of a name to a cheque for £36 at Waitotara about August 18.The accused was escorted this morning to Wanganui to appear on Wednesday. Jensen was recently convicted and fined £5 at WaveiTey on a similar charge respecting smaller amounts, the victim then being a Waverley .hotelkeeper.
