TURNS A PACIFIST

GERMAN MILITARY EXPERT. FEW WARS IN FUTURE THE POWER OF AEROPLANES. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Oct. 5, 2.35 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 4. Max Bau©r, an artillery expert on the German General Staff, and known as the father of the “Big Berthas,” has deserted war in favour of an industrial position in Argentina. He has become a pacifist because there will not be enough wars in the future. The Atlantic will be traversed in 10 to 15 hours by aeroplanes ,and that- will end wars, because when the aei'ial fleets can attack capitals the Parliaments that start wars and warmakers will hesitate to risk their own skins. —A. and N.Z.
