FAMOUS JERSEY BULLS.

ONE FOR NEW ZEALAND. Last year arrangements -were made on behalf of Mr. H. Salway, of Bell Block, to secure a Jersey bull of high quality from America, and as the result of negotiations Mr. C. E. Robertson,, of a Wellington firm, the famous eight-year-old bull You’ll Do’s Victor was purchased from the noted American' breeder Mr. T. S'. Cooper, for £I2OO. Delay took place owing to foot land imouith disease) .regulations and as this meant that the bull would be nine years old when it. reached New Zealand. Mr. Salway determined to sell and now is advised that the resale has been effected at a large increase on his .purchase price. Naturally it is to he regretted that Taranaki will not see this great hull and her stock benefit thereby, but Mr. Salway had to face the fact that an aged bull would not become so readily acclimatised. That was his reason for selling. At the same time advice has been received by Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., that the fine bull, Sybil’s Gamboge Dreadnought, by one of the most famous of all Jersey bulls Sybil’s Gamboge, will reach New Zealand shortly and be added to the stud herd of Mr. W. T. Williams, of Hawke’s Bay. This bull is two years old and secured honours at the last year’s great American National Dairy Show. It is quite on the cards it will he a competitor at the Royal Show this year in Christchurch.
