BOY SCOUTS.
NOTES BY “TENDERFOOT.” A parade was held in the Scout Hall onu Thursday evening, and after a test the following were selected to. represent the Hawera Troop at the forthcoming Dunedin jamboree: —D. Seaver, J. Philips, R. Ashton, A. Mullins, E. Spavin. A. Dyke, R. Yinton, E. Evans, E. Kellahan, J. Whiting, B. Sargenson, C. Whiting, D. Yorke, P. Pinson, J. Sorenson, and C. Smillie. / 1 The above boys will leave oil the Bth of January, and will return oil the 23rd of the same month in charge of Scoutmaster Hitchcock and Cubmaster Pettett. . . At present we have 23 cubs and. 44 scouts on our roll, and we would welcome any other boys desirous of joining the troop. Owen Brown was admitted as a new member, and was tendered . a .very hearty Scouts’ welcome at our., last parade. ... ■ We regret to leani that Soout L. Wise is at preseut .laid up, and w 7 e all wash him a speedy recovery. It might 'he . mentioned that a royal welcome aw-aits his. return to the troop.. > Dame Rumour has it that Scoutmaster Booth may still remain in the district, and we hope to be R tiU favoured with his presence amongst us. . .. The Scouts are at present putting in a very strenuous time making preparations for a. concert to be held at no distant date, when we hope to demonstrate to the Hawera public the arts and craft R of the Boy Scout movement.
