CAMPAIGN OPENED AT PAHIATUA

™ PAHIATUA, Oct. 2. Mr McNicol, the Government candidate ‘for P'ahiatua, opened his campaign at Ballance last evening before .a large audience. He declared himself a. strong supporter of the Reform administration and trenchantly, denounced the Nationalists for what he alleged to be misrepresentation of fusion negotiations, and for betraying their constituencies by walking out- of the House in no-confidence motions moved by Mr Holland.
McNicol was given a splendid hearing, and was accorded an unanimous vou- of thanks and confidence.
WiAIPAWA ELECTORATE. ,< _ DIANNEIVIRKE, Oct, 2. Sir George Hunter, Government candidate for t-he Waipawa seat, opened his cmapaign last night at What-ukura, addressing a well attended and enthusiastic meeting. He paid tributes to the late Prime Minister- and to the Hon. J. G. Coates for the administrative ability they had displayed as leaders off Parliament, and dealt with the legislation of the -session just closed. Aii enthusiastic meeting passed unanimously a vote of thanks and confidence in the candidate and the Government,
