♦ PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN. EY NEW ORGANISATION. FOR IMPERIAL PREFERENCE. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. Received. Sept. 30, 12.10 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 29. Mr Ben Morgan, who was at- one time Trade Coinnfissioner in New Ze-:c-land, states that the new Empire Industries Association, of which he is one cf the deputy-chairmen, begins immediately on propaganda work throughout Britain in favour of Empire foodstuffs. His attempt will- he the largest popular educational scheme on non-party lines vet conducted. It is proposed to form branches in each Parliamentary constituency, with the issue of local bulletins giving Empire information. The association will support Imperial preference candidates, inrespeetlve of party. The sum' of £20,C00 annually for five years has already been promised. Mr Morgan paid stress on the: significance that it is the first time .in the political history of Britain that the principal bankers and shipowners are supporting the campaign for preference. He pointed out that Lqrd Runsdon, chairman of the association, had been a lifelong free trader.—Reuter.
