POSITION OF CANDIDATES. The position of the carnival ca inflates to-day was as follows: SPORTS’ 1 'SCOTTISH 2 COUNTRY 3 The total votes polled to date amount ,o 90i30, which gives an amounrt of £ll3 os now in hand. The candidate committees are reninded that the general secretary requires the personnel of the candidates teams for the tug-o’-war competition >y 9 o’clock this evening. The teams vill he published to-morrow. _ A public meeting will he held in the Okaiawa Hall on Thursday evening to further the interests of the Country candidate. The convenors extend a hearty invitation to all to assist in doing everything possible to insure a win for the Country..girl.
