WESTFIELD SALE. 'TIV w 'SBO^ATTOV, AUCKLAND, Sep. 23. At the Westfield sale to-day there was an extra short market of beef. Bidding was exceptionally keen, and prices showed a considerable advance. Extra choice ox made £2 6s per 1001 b. choice and prime £2 Is to £2.55, ordinary and plain £1 10s to £2. prime young cow and heifer beef £1 17s- to £2 Is, other £1 5s to £1 -10 s. Sheep sold at late rates. Heavy prime wethers made £2 7s to £2 9s, medium prime £2 4s 6d to £2 6s 9d, light prime £2 2s to £2 Is 3d. others £1 18s 6d to £2 Is, best heavy prime ewes £1 18s to £2 2s, medium prime £1 15s to £1 17s. light £1 12s 6c! to £1 14s 6d. others £1 8s to £1 12s. Spring lambs came forward in larger numbers, selling readilv at late rates. Best, lambs made £1 16s to £1 19s, medium £1 12s to £1 15s, others £1 8s to £1 11s.
Pigs sold at advanced prices. Heavy bnconers made £4 18s to £5 12s. medium £4 13s to £4 17s, light £4 to £4 9s. lieavv porkers £2 12s to £4 2s, light and medium £2 18s to £3 10s.
