VALUE OF SUBMARINES. ITALIAN EXPERTS CONVINCED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Sept. 24, 10.20 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 23. The Daily News naval correspondent states that all battleships were “sunk” or “disabled” by submarines or aircraft during 'the Italian manoeuvres, thus convincing experts that battleships are obsolete. They therefore have been excluded from the projected new programme, providing for three thousand tons submarine .with a cruisjng radius of seven thousand miles, and capable of diving safely to 330 feet.—Sydney Sun Cable.
