MEGAN SCRATCHED

CBY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION AUCKLAND, Sept. 24.

Megan was scratched for all engagements at Avondale at 12.45 p.m. yesterday.

Two only Hawera-trained horses are making tKe trip to Auckland- for the Avondale meeting. Star Area, trained by J. Brown, with an engagement in the Guineas, was railed right through, and All Wind (M. Conway, trainer), nominated for the maiden and hurdles, was shipped by boat front New Plymouth last night. The Banker, which was considered to have a good chance in the Cup, developed some throat trouble, and Trainer Cox considered it inadvisable to send the gelding north. Muraahi has returned to Trainer Brough’s stables. He was not sent- out on the second day at Otaki on account of the heavy going, which Was likely to interfere with his New Zealand Cup preparation.
