A small consignment- of strawberries, the first of the season, came on to the market at Christchurch on Saturday morning and realised 10s per lb. The strawberries were grown in Sumner. A deal in fat cattle involving £5500 was effected at Dunedin last week, when Mr Peter Anderson, of Stirling, sold to Messrs Barton and Trengrove a line of 200 bullocks. They were sold at prices ranging from £26 to £33 per head, and averaged £27 10s. This is probably the largest deal in fat cattle that has been effected in the Dominion this year and experts well qualified to judge consider them the primest bullocks seen in the southern district for a long time.
