SITTING AT HA WEB A. MAINTENANCE A NTT OTHER CASES At the ELawera Magistrate’s Court yesterday Wilhelm ill a J. Lambert laid complaints against her husband, Frank Lambert, for separation, maintenance, and guardianship of the children.-al-'°ging crrelty and failure to maintain. TVi e magistrate said the taw had defined what constituted cruelty, and in law he could see no proof of cruelty in tie depositions of the complainant’s witnesses. Failure to maintain was also not proved, although defendant bad come perilously near it. The information was dismissed, the magistrate pointing opt to Lambert the influence of bed language and roughness ■> family life. On the application of his wife, a prohibition order was issued against Bertram A. Peterson. An application bv George Wm. Hay- -. o-d for a variation of £ maintenance order in favour of his wife and children was refused, as was also an application fo- a re-hearing of the original cornlain t.
