EXTRA EDITION.
STATE STATION FOR NEW SOUTH WALES. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPY BIG 111 '(Received Sep. 16, noon.) SIDNEY, Sep. 16. The State Premier (Mr Lang) announced the Government proposes to establish a State wireless broadcasting station on the lines of the Queensland station. Mr Lang pointed out that the scheme will provide for the establishment of relay stations in various country centres, which will enable people with small sets at a long distance from Sydney to listen-in.
DISSATISFACTION IN N FAY ZEALAND. WELLINGTON AMATEURS MEET. WELLINGTON, Sept. 16. At a meeting of the Wellington Amateur Radio Society a resolution was carried protesting against the failure of the Government to carry out its alleged promises to impiove the broadcasting services. It was claimed that four lfirge stations were promised, hut only two were being erected, and licensees were being heavily taxed in the meantime for a service they would not receive until these stations were completed. The Postmaster-General is to he urged to summon an early meeting of the Broadcast Control Board to consider the position.
