LOCAL AND GENERAL.
During- a vio'ent thunderstorm at Maxwelltown the other day three bullocks were struck by lightning ana killed. The beasts were in prime condition and were penned just prior to delivery to a customer. Dr. Jensen and Mr J. A. Spencer, geologists, are visiting New Plymouth for the purpose of inspecting and reporting on properties for the Omata Oil Company, which was recently formed in Sydney. Eric Wilfred Lawson, of Sydney, has issued a. writ for £25,000 damages against Alexander Wright Donald, of Auckland, for alleged breach of contract. The details are not stated (says a Sydney cable).
