Yankee’s Tournament.—Miss Picken beat Mias Y. Clark©, 2- and 1 ; Mi'ss Picken beat Mists W- Huggins, 2 and 1; M-lisis ißiilton beat Mass Meyrick, 4 and 3; Mrs. Hall beat Mrs. Douglas, 3 and 2; Miss W. Huggins beat Miss Y. Clark©, 4 and 3; Mists M. Corry and Miss.M. Burgess halved. The seniors will play the first round of a two day eclectic netx Friday, 18th. I'h© juniors will do likewise, starting at 1.30 p.m. In this competition they will have no 'handicap scoring to worry about. All they- bave to do is to putt down their strokes for each hole and hope that their had holes in the first round will be good in the second. Some of the junior cards are showing figures within one and two of bogey. One had a three for “Taiwhiti,” consequently some/a djustment o.f handicaps has been necessary, and the following will find their handicaps reduced: —Miss Knight, Miss Hogan. ELTHAM CLUB FINAL. J. QUIN BEATS L. QUIN. The final of the Club’s senior championship has caused keen Interest in the club, and also all over the province. It was played on Thursday, and after a. keen struggle, in which play was of a distinctly high standard, the amateur champion had to lower lus colours to his brother. The latter won by two up and one to play. In the second nine holes he went round in 32 —a club record, and one which the best would find it hard to beak. The scores were: J. ‘Quin 71, L. Quin 75. If they can reproduce this form at Hagley they will both he up amongst the best of the Dominion.
