(To the Editor.) Sir,—l. iike many others, read with great inteiest ‘‘Old Farmer’s” letter of the 6th inst. le the above. R\ the tone of his letter he seems to think 32-)ibs of butter-fat per cow an extraordinarily good return. Well, there is plenty of loom for impro.ement Take the last, say, three good seasons (good to what we will get in the lutuie): An old farmer (not alluding to your interesting and helpful correspondent, as he may b e a young cue; who had ail the high prices and 'or years has been testing and culling. and who gives his cows plenty of feed, ought to do over 3501bs of fat, or b e ashamed to say that he doer, not. But you will often notice that t. e poorest herds and owes! tests belong to the o'd farme s as the young farmers don’t overstock, therefore their cows do well. —1 am. etc YOUNG FARMER. ' Manaia.
