Viscount Cobham, president of the Worcestershire Club, is forwarding to Marylebone the two balls used during the Worcestershire innings against Middlesex, when Nige.l Haig totalled 9 wickets for 122. In connection with the hall-tampering charge, a player’s suggestion that Haigh contributed to. Worcestershire’s defeat by deliberately curling the seams, is universally scouted in cricket circles.—Sydney Sun Cable. TTAWERA CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Hawern Cricket Chib was held last night, when there was a fair attendance, presided over by Mr B. McCarthy. The chairman read the annual report and balance-sheet, and in moving its adoption referred to the question of the affiliation of the North and _ South Taranaki Associations. He said he hoped the ultimate result would _be. the amalgamation of the two associations. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £7 6s Bd, and as the annual report disclosed that there was a fair supply of material on hand the position was regarded as being very satisfactory. The report and .balance-sheet were adopted. The chairman, prior to the election of officers, intimated his desire to retire from official positions on the club. W. Entwistle, and Rev. H. W. Monaghan ; canvassing committee, Messrs F. Bernard, T. Maehin and Rev. H. W. Monaghan. Mr T. Maehin was appointed to take charge of the material. Mr J. Nielsen Suggested that the club enter tln’ec senior teams in the competition in order to avoid a bye. It was decided to give the selection committee power to nominate the number of senior and junior teams. Subscriptions were arranged’ to be the same as the previous year. It was decided to have honorary members’ tickets printed. The question of each team having a separate colour was discussed, but was dropped in favour of purchasing club monograms for players to wear on their hats or cans. It was decided to purchase two dozen monograms from Palmerston North for the purpose of a trial. The levy of 6d per playing member in the home team as a ground fee was again agreed upon. The onening day was fixed for September 26.
