.ACCIDENT. A painful accident befell a member of the staff of the Riverlea factory on Monday, when Mr. Cyril Thoumine had a finger badly crushed in assisting to unload, a. cheese vat from one of Messrs. J. and A. Guy’s lorries. It appears that, in lowering the vat, Mr Thoumine was unfortunate enough to get caught on one of the supports set up to take the weight of the vat, with the result that one of his fingers was split from ton to bottom. The general manager of the company, who happened to be at t-lie Riverlea branch, at once ran the sufferer into Kaponga, where he received surgical attention. Mr. Glass, who met with a cycling accident a few days ago, js progressing quite satisfactorily. 1
