CONCERT IN HAWERA. Much interest is evinced in the announcement that the new combination of soloists of the celebrated Sistine Choir will give a concert in the Ojpera House, Hawera,, on Friday, 18tli inst. The soloists recently completed a remarkably successful season at the Sydney Town Hall, where they gave eighteen successive performances. The new party was organised in Rome about twelve months ago by Maestro Casolari for a tour of the United States, which duly proved most, successful. With the exception of Signor Sarti, the party, as a present constituted, is identical with that wliieh achieved such a triumph in America. A feature of the new programmes, is the presentation, in elaborate period costumes, of old Italian madrigals, motetes and scenes from the very earliest operas. In addition there is the usual selection of excerpts from modern grand opera, folk songs and* ballads, for which the soloists are famous. -The particular bright star of the company is Amedeo Burani, a young baritone with a voice of tremendous volume and magnificent quality. ROLLER SKATING. The second game of the hockey tournament was played last night between the Ramblers and.the Rovers, the former winning by 4 goals to 3. This makes the second win for the Ramblers. A new team (Wanderers) has been formed and will meet the Pink Imps on Monday night.
