PATEA HARBOUR BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The Patea Harbour Board met yesterday. when there were present: Messrs A. T Christensen (chair''. E. A Par-ey, -I. R. Corrigan, M.P., J. H. Ve;ry, A. Pierce and A. H. Hodge. PILOT’S REPORT. Tue pHot (Captain- Tinnev) reported that the channel on the bar was straight, with 13ft. between the walls and about loft on the bar at h gh water s-u- ng tide, and about 9ft between the walls and lift, on the bar at high water neap tides. There had been e’ght arrivals and eight departures since his last report. DREDGEMASTER’S REPORT. The dredgemaster, Mr A. Mercer, repotted that since the ’ast- meeting of the hoard he lind been employed up to August 11 at Oakley’s corner, haying shitted 1600 cubic yards of spoil. Since August 14 the dredge had been at the viaduct and Pulley’s wharf. The log at Oakley’s corner had not yet been removed. Before the next meeting ot the board the dredge’s survey cerffiente would have expired, and the dredge would he on the s’,ip for overhaul by October 1. The chairman mentioned that the result of the work done at Oakley’s corner was beyond the board’s .greatest expectations. The reports were both adopted.
