Agitators are bent upon revenging the victims of the May 30th affair, and are protesting against the unusual treaties. They made bitter speeches which worked the crowd to a frenzy. A move was made towards the international settlement, at the edge of which the crowd met five foreign and two Chinese police, whom they attacked with stones, bamboo poles and other missiles. Two of the foreign police were knocked down. The trouble is reserves were rushed to the scene and to fire. They aimed high, but it is stated that one rioter was seriously and two were slightly wounded. Strong reserves weer rushed to the scene and the crowd scattered. Thb position is now quiet. The Chinese claim that one rioter was killed. The actual number of casualties is uncertain.—■Reuter.
