CRYING FOR THE MOON.
Little Jack was very cross, Crying for the moon; “Jack won’t go to sleep,” he said, “ ’Less he gets it soon. ” Mother would have given All she had to *see Little Jack made happy, Laughing on her knee. Grandma would have hurried To the nearest store To buy' a moon and roll if, Shining, on the floor. Father, though, proved wiser, “Come, my boy,” said he; “Let us climb and get the moon Off yonder hill you see.” So Jackie started climbing, But half-way from the top lie murmured: “Jackie’s tired; He finks he’d like to stop.” So father bore him homewards, Tn bod he snuggled soon, And since that day small Jackie Has not cried for the moon.
