dY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—GOPYRIGH'I GENEVA, Sep. 2. The thirty-fifth session of the League of Nations Council assembled privately land drew up the agenda. Subsequently, at a 'Short public sitting, it was decided, initer alia, to submit to the forthcoming Assembly the report of the temporary coanimi'ttee, raised by the New Zealand delegation at the thin Assembly. It is stated that the Mosul debate will be held to-morrow, —Reuter. NEW ZEALAND’S REPRESENTATION. . (BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Sep. 3. The New Zealand branch of the League of Nations Union sent a deputation to the Premier (the Hon. J. G. Coates) to-day, asking that New land should be fully represented at the next and succeeding assemblies of the League by persons residing in the Dominion in addition to the High Commissioner (Sir James Allen). They asked also that New Zealand should be represented at the international Labour conference at Geneva, and that the Government should ratify the conventions passed by the Labour conference. Another request was that the Government should examine the proposals of the Geneva protocol and "any others that might achieve the same purpose, namely, ending the era of violence and introducing one of justice, co-operation and peace. ' The Attorney-General (Sir Francis Bell) pointed out that New Zealand had been represented through the British Government. The New Zealand Government was in accord with the principles of the protocol, and had adopted the same attitude as other Dominion Governments.
The Prime Minister said he could not make any other reply than h'e did to a previous deputation on the matter of representation of employers and employees at the international Labour conference. The Government’s v-’ews on the protocol were unchanged. As to the Chinese situation, he had yet to learn what the League of Nations could do if the matter were referred to it for instant decision. However, the deputation’s points would be .earefujly considered and replies furnished iater.
