While a ’plane and patrol ships continue to search for PN9 No. 1, hope for the safety of Commander Rogers and his four mates has been virtually abandoned in official quarters. Twentyfour hours have elapsed since the last message. • Though there is not the slightest trace, the naval vessels still hope to rescue the airmen alive.
