Rev. N. H. Papakakura was in Hawera yesterday, and took part in the final rehearsal of “Hiawatha.” He returned to New Plymouth to-day. Sir Janieis Parr, who lias been 'attacked by influenza, is making good progress .and should ib© able to attend to his Alinisterial duties in a few days.
Mr. Wy.veni Wilson, S.AL, of Ghriisfchureh has been transferred to Hamilton. Ho will bo replaced by Mr. H. A. Young, S.AI., now of Hamilton. Mr J. AV. Deem, instructor in agriculture, is due to leave Wanganui in about a week’s time on a. two months’ visit to Australia.. He will visit Qeensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, inspecting conditions in the- various States. He will be accompanied by Airs, and Aliss Deem. Their Excellencies the Governor-Gen-eral and Lady Alice I? erg lissom will leave Wellington on September 10 on official visits to Wanganui and New Plymouth. They will arrive at Wanganui on the same day, and among other engagements during the stay will be present ait- the raieeis on the. 12th. On Monday, September 14, their Excellencies will, leave Wanganui for Neav Plymouth.
