Meanwhile the police are Avorriedf by reports that rival gangs in the city’s underworld, are arming for war. One gang, known as the “Neary Mob,” disagreed with the “Diamond • Mob.” Tliev have sworn vengeance on each other. It is reported that the “Diamonds” have imported a group of Detroit gunmen to help in the fight. After enjoying .a. swim in the pool at Starlight Park, four men in bathing suits were held up bv armed men.' Their attache cases were seized and money and valuables worth 5000 dollars (about £1000) taken. The bandits fled, shooting a policeman. Prohibition agents had put padlocks on the doors*of the Texas Guinaw Club, a popular night resort, for six, months, on account of the sale of liquor. „
