Why Does i-t Not Hunt When We Out our Hair? ' We feel pain when we burn our fingers or suffer from any other kind of injury because -almost every part -of the body has innumerable -small nerves* in it, which carry -to the bra/in the sensation of pain. It follows, therefore, that i f there were wo nerves there would be no pa-in; and, w/s a matter of fact, when a doctor washes) to- do- anything to- a part* - lent which would be very painful, he uses -some means to deaden the endings of the nerves in the skin. It happens that our hair, like o-ur nails, has no nerve®, and the ref or*e may be- cut off -in nearly every case without causing any pai n .
