The Taranaki touring team is Raving a. mixed career. The forwards, as was expected, are proving their really genuine worth, and are altogether a slashing lot. They made Hawke’s Bay “sit Up and take notice” in the second spell, and apparently, were going stronger than ever at the end of the game.. .

The hacks with one or two exceptions are weak and appear to fail to Combine with anything like effectiveness. It is most disappointing when the province has isne.li a. fine pack. However, a very strong team was ahoseii to defeat Wairarapn after falling to Marlborough. They are light, but said to be a wonderfully smart team and expect to make up for the former condition by their pace and nippiness. They have had a good deal of travelling tlios week, Grey mouth and Dunedin ,and on September 5 they come to New Plymouth to play Wanganui and Taranaki.
