ROWAN.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Hall Committee’s euchre party and dance, which was held on Tuseday night, proved itself a success. There was a large attendance of local residents. The winners of the euchre prizes were: Ladies, Mrs. Norgate; gents, Mr. H. Skevington. The points prizes* wer e also gi»en out, the winners being Mrs. Woodhead and Mr. kevington Despite counter-attractions and rumours being circulated that it was an invitation dance, the ball held here last week drew a. fair attendance. The nail was nicely decorated by the committee. The floor was in good order or dancing and capital music was supplied by Mr. Boulton’s orchestra. A splendid supper was piovided by the committee. Lining the evening there were two waltzing competitions and novelty dances. The maiden waltz was won by Mr. Sattler and partner, and the open coinpeteition by Mr. Thompson and partner. Mrs. McDougall and Mr. Alderton were the successful ones in the novelty dance. Enthusiasts are reminded that the Rowan Social Committee are holdinga ball in the Riverlea hall next "Wednesday night. Th 0 committee is workng hard to make this function a success, and all necessary details are well in hand. First-class supper, floor and music are guaranteed. The committee nas been successful in securing a first, class judge, Mr. Webby, ox Mangatoki, and they have also Ms.’C. wh| will attend to all.
