(From Onr Own Correspondent.) The wind-up ball of the season was held last Tue'sdav evening and was a great success. A large crowd was present and all spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Newberry’s orchestra supplied the music, while Messrs R. Guy and 0. Bootten capably officiated as M’s.C. The crowd dispersed in the early hours of the morning. Mrs. E. Keighly, Hastings Road, who is in the Hawera hospital, is progressing sa t i sfa ctorily. Miss Lorn a Scott, who has also been seriously ill in Hawera, is home again and is well on the road to recovery. Mr. “Bob” Free, president of the local branch of the Fanners’ Union, has been elected: chairman of the .Mangatoki Dairy Co., and the farmers of the district will wish him success.
