The juniors had practically the whole course to themselves yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed the bogey match arranged for them through the kindness of Mrs Douglas, who donated the trophy played for. It being the first bogey competition for most of them, they all met at one o’clock for a little preliminary instruction in. rules and scoring. After the match they were entertained at afternoon tea- by Mrs Douglas, to whom Mrs Duffill expressed the appreciation of ad for so pleasant an afternoon’s entertainment. '

The best carde sent in were: Miss Miss Knight 1 up, Miss Hogan 1 down, Miss Buist and Miss Powdrell 2 down, Miss Syme 4 down, Mrs Hall and Miss M. Robertson 5 down. Yankee tournament. —Mrs Hall beat Miss E. M. Burgess; Miss Hogan beat Miss McCormack. Tonics’ rose bowl.—The second round has been completed, and the following meet in the third round: —Mrs French v. Miss Joll, Mrs Christie v. Miss Capleti, Miss Wilson v. Miss K. Robertson, Mrs Wake v Mrs Glasson. It is highly probable that a 1! these matches will be decided early next week, but in case of September 9 is set as the time limit. After tiiat date, c.r before if possible, the semi-finalists may meet as soon as they like —the sooner the better. The following is the rest of the programme: —September 4, second round of championship; September . 11, ' L.G.U. monthly medal ; September IS, two-day eclectic; September 25,- same, second day; October 2, D.G.U. medal.
