ANNUAL MEETING OF LOAYGARTH BRANCH.

At the annua! meeting of members of the Lowgarth branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union on Wednesday evening, Mr L. Babbington, the president, in his annual address, said that during the year eleven ordinary meetings and six executive meetings had been held, all of which were very well attended and the members most enthusiastic. He referred to the lectures given during the year, and expressed on behalf of members their great appreciation of the help given to farmers in this matter by the experts who had o-iven addresses. He expressed pleasure that the exchange rates had been reduced. which this year would cost the local dairy company about £33 aganist over £I2OO for the previous year.. He was rather disappointed that not more farmers had entered for the rootgrowing competition.
